Why is the power door lock showing to be locked when it isn't?

Why does the front passenger door on my 2015 Nissan Rogue show to be
locked when I try to lock it, but it can still be opened from the outside?

Latch assembly lock is either damaged or the lock rod has disconnected itself from the latch assembly.
