I would, I've changed all of my vehicles oil and filter every 3000 miles or 3 months. they say you can go longer now but dirty oil is still dirty oil.

New cars can easily go 5,000 miles between oil changes especially if you are using synthetic oil, and I would recommend every 6 months. BUT, with synthetic oil,. I understand that you can go as far as one year.. still,. Do it every 6 months , you're better off... Sorry, tennisshoes, but,. 3,000 or 3 months is very old school...

Yep I know it's old school but when oil changes color it's time to change the oil.

tennisshoes-. I understand, and I did that on all my cars pre-2000... BUT, since I have two cars from 2009 and 2010, they say this is completely different story now. Are you running synthetic oil in your cars?

Look, the guy has a 2015 Chevy Silverado....it's not an old car. He should follow the manufacturers recommendations.

Changing the oil every 3,000 miles is harder on the environment and very 1960s/ 1970s.... I understand that a lot of us grew up with this and it's hard to shake,. I get it....

Here's one more post on this subject,. Please don't over due it.. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/11/your- money/11shortcuts.html?_r=0

I would change it at 7500 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. The days of the 3000 mile oil change are gone forever. Oils are much better than days of old and so are the engines.
