how do you feel the differential on 2001 ford escape
you crawll under and touch it their are 2 front and rear, to feel it while driving in 2 wheel should be smooth and quiet, in 4 wheel same thing if all tires are perfect diameter,if not 2 get ahead of other 2 and wind up tourque making growellllll on dry road or turning tight turn, tight turn windup will happen even with perfect tire dia. cuz 2 are traveling ahead of 2 other tires
Just some information I submit for your car: Unlike traditional four-wheel drive vehicles where the independent wheels must be engaged by the driver prior to shifting into four-wheel drive, the Escape rear drive engages the rear wheels automatically, without driver input. Signals from the ABS sensors also automatically prepare the brakes for the all-wheel drive shift.
