What to do about deceptive advertising

Asked by Duane Jan 31, 2022 at 10:33 AM about the 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I purchased a car from Prestige Automotive group in Columbus OH after
seeing it on your site.  I secured financing from your partner but did not use.
I understand As-Is. But I would expect that the car is in decent running
condition with no major issues.  The dealership prides itself both verbally
and on their website that they put their high end vehicles through a rigorous
inspection process.  Z the rep I dealt with said they put $3,000.00 worth of
work into the Land Rover including a new timing belt and water pump.
However, on examination by 2 qualified mechanics, they showed how
someone tried to repair the coolant leak but was unsuccessful.  As-Is if the
coolant leak is so bad that it dumps within seconds and causes the engine
failure that is something that should be required by Ohio law to be
disclosed.  It would have given me information and time to fix the issue and
not have a need for a new engine.  Looking for assistance in holding
Prestige Automotive Group in Columbus Oh accountable for deceptive
advertising on your site and the repair or replacement of the 2015 Land
Rover LR4.

CarGurus is an ad site, like newspaper classifieds, and has no relationship with the advertisers. Used car dealers are scum: never believe a word they say without seeing proof, like receipts for all that work. Every time you plan to buy a car, have it checked by a mechanic you pay before purchase..... Report these frauds to your state's Bureau Of Automotive Repair; they might help you resolve this. If the dealer won't fix this, I'm guessing you got a short warranty that's now run out, go to small claims court or get an attorney..... This should be a learning experience: Once bitten; twice shy.

As-is is only valid if there is no fraud or deception involved. Follow advice of Ed92626
