Running rough when started a second time

Asked by Michael May 28, 2018 at 11:59 PM about the 1997 GMC Suburban K1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So when I reset the computer the truck runs
perfect when I arrive at my destination and turn the
truck off finish what I'm doing and start the truck
again the check engine light comes on and the
RPMs go up and down. I have replaced the idle air
control valve and the mass airflow sensor but it
only does it when it's hot, the first startup of the
day it runs fine. This is very frustrating because
obviously it won't pass smog with something
stupid like that.

I mean it could be also oxygen sensors or catalytic converter. I have a very similar problem like yours. But the tip off would be if it's making any noise stated in this forum: https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-gen-s-series-1995-2005-tech-41/timing-chain-problem- 70191/ similar noise can also be heard revving up after an oil change, but I could be wrong
