Can the rods and pistons on a 3.8L V6 be changed withour removing the engine?

Asked by Feb 20, 2016 at 03:34 PM about the 2002 Ford Windstar SEL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a rod shear into and put a hole in the pan.  The engine will run but I have one piston up.  I saw where the engine to be removed had to be dropped and a body lift was needed.  I would like to do it myself if it can be done in the vehicle.
