Driving trouble

my car does not accelerate very well I will run
very high RPMs with very sluggish acceleration.
Stay my engine light came on and told me if my
mass airflow sensor could this be the problem
or could it be something else throwing the
mass airflow sensor off

It's easy to check if the catalytic converter is clogged up- just put your hand back at the tailpipe and feel how good the flow is coming out- don't breathe it-
