Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a rattle in rear of 2015 Ford Escape.  I have had  it
into the garage several time and they replaced the struts,
put on a new stabilizer bar , took struts off and put back on
to make sure they were tight. Still have rattle, sometimes a
grinding sound. The garage told me it was the gas swishing
in my tank but why did it not do this the first 2 year I had the
escape?

I would check the emergency brake shoes. Lot of reports of this from yr 14 to 17. Easy way to check Is to go down a road you normal hear it and slightly pull up on e brake and see if noise goes away. If so. Shoes may need to be replaced or adjusted.

Thank you Lonetech. I will check at the car dealer about this. I got my escape new in Nov. 2014 and it only has 13998 miles on it and this noise is driving me nut. Wet and damp days it seems to be worse but it is still there sometimes on a dry days. This noise makes me want to get a new, different SUV but this is my second escape and I like it except for the noise.

Taking escape in on 19th and they are giving me a loaner so they can drive it for a few days. I told them about the emergency brake shoes and they are going to ck them.
