Is heat supposed to come out of the dashboard vents when on the Auto setting and should the fan blow stronger when the temperature is initially turned up when on the Auto setting?

Asked by Jan 01, 2017 at 07:52 PM about the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited FWD

Question type: General

My dad has a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited and seems to recall that the
heat used to come out of the dashboard vents when on the Auto setting,
however, now it does not.  Also, he said that when he used to turn the heat
/ temperature up the fan would initially run at a higher speed and no longer
does this either.  Is this normal / correct or is something wrong with the
heating system on his vehicle?

look on drivers side of engine about in the center should see a 90 degrees vacuum line attached. make sure it is on or you cant change where the air comes out on heat or AC. as for your other problem check fan clutch or look for and play in fan clutch by grabbing top of fan and push towards windshield then pull towards front of car several times. If it moves then it needs replaced also look for ANY oil or dark spots at center of fan clutch cee some replacr it,

With the pushing and pulling I mean pull on fan not fan clutch.
