Coolant Leak

Asked by Mar 17, 2010 at 03:46 PM about the 1998 GMC Sonoma 2 Dr SLS Sport 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Idler pulley blew on the highway. Casuing serpentine belt to fall off. All replaced now but coolant leak from under alternator. Water pump?

Truck will not idle but will run if throttle opened to 2000 rpm or more.

Checked radiator, it was empty. Refilled.

    Had an oil leak. Shop replaced my "oil cooler lines to pan Gasket". Within a couple days I've ended up with coolant in the engine. Could the problem be related to the original repair?
