How long does a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) last?
I bought a 2015 nissan altima a year ago that has a 2.5SV I4 engine with a
CVT transmission. I was wondering how long will the cvt last before
beginning to show some problems and how long will it last before breaking
completely. The car is is brand new straight from the dealership and I plan
on selling it after 4-5 years. I drive relatively smooth and try to put as little
stress as possible on the car, but as a 19 year old guy, I floor it and launch
control the car from time to time lol. Thanks in advance
Well known for CVT transmissions issues. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/nissan_altima.html
The Nissan CVT will possibly be a nightmare at 100,000 miles or sooner. Do some research using "Nissan CVT Problems" as the search string.
I have a 2009 Altima I'm rough with mine it runs from cops real good and I push it to its limits sometimes but mine is running fine at 143k miles all I've replaced is drive belt ac compressor, headlights and wipers
298306 miles so far. On 2010 2.5s Altima Just started acting funny after all these years of mostly highway but some descent spirited driving along the way. Car is still drivable but symptom seems like it s slipping or something the comes on strong.? Will find out soon if its on its last legs. Had similar thing happen last year but sorta fixed itself if that makes any sense. Like it was out of rhythm or something...?
