Sirius radio reception

Asked by Apr 17, 2017 at 07:40 PM about the 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My reception on Sirrus radio stations will cut out for a second (most times
less then a minute apart).  When it does, 3 seconds later it cuts out again
for a second. Then within a minute it does it again.  I have had it in the
shop three times without success.  The fourth time the radio was replaced
with a new one.  SAME PROBLEM.  Regular AM and FM there is no
problem.
Could it be a short in the antenna.  Please, ever heard of this before and
can you help!

Where do you live, in between mountains, low areas will affect reception

Sirrus is a line of sight radio signal, so if anything blocks it you will loose the station, trees, buildings, valleys, I have even had a large truck block the signal driving down the highway. Was the signal reset when the last system was replaced by the Sirrus themselves? You will have to call them and give them the receivers number, usually channel one but check your book to make sure, if you can't find it then they maybe able to help you when you call.

No I live in the middle of Illinois and there isn't anything that should be a problem. The 3 second thing must have some meaning

the 3 second thing is everytime

That's about what I get when my signal is disrupted, 3 seconds, I would still call Sirrus and get the signal reset and see if that helps.

I have the same problem, but it seems to be connected to my bluetooth. It only happens when my phone is connected to the car and only with SiriusXM not FM Radio.
