i need to know how to reset the security system on my jimmy can any one help?

i just changed out the steering column and it will start for a second and then stalls and the security light flashes. any ideas and suggestions are appreciated

Instructions 1 Open the driver's door. 2 Press the power door-lock switch to lock all the doors, with the driver's door still open. The "SECURITY" light will come on. 3 Close the driver's door. The "SECURITY" light will go off after about 30 seconds. The system has been reset. If I take the radio out, what pins do I jump to bypass The security system. This is on a 98 Inc sonoma

I have a 2000 gmc jimmy that will not crank or start when I first got in it it turned over then when I turned the key off and back on to prim the fuel pump it wouldn't do nothing it wouldn't turn over start nothing any ideas
