Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Chevy Spark has started overheating for some reason.  I changed the
thermostat but still overheating.  Should I change the coolant temp sensor
coming out of the radiator before I try to tackle the water pump?  The water
pump has no signs of leaking nor any noise coming from it.  Is there any other
possible reason for it to start overheating suddenly?  43,307 miles

I agree. Water pumps these days can fail without leaking or making any noise! The picture below is the old water pump out of my 2000 Grand Prix. You can see the impeller fins are rusted away. The pump was not leaking or noisy but the engine was heating up at expressway speeds which indicates a coolant circulation problem. Hope that helps! Jim
