Just bought a used 2015 explorer and the FM radio will not tune in clearly. I only get 1 FM
station when i use the FM control or the HD control.
2015 should be under warranty, it could be a bad antenna, or the factory missed hooking it up during assembly, but if the dealer is worth anything they would have caught that during the new car prep. Take it back, your radio should be clear on FM as it is different than AM radio.
to those whi may concearn actually : the problem is the fm frequency rate / grid. US fm radio grid uses 200 kHz grid, german uses 100 kHz - so many stations cant get tuned properly. Its the same with many 3rd party upgrade-Units from Asia, most fits american standards, but only a few european radio standards. If you want asure proper tune , use a 3rd party unit made for european market with the custom-fit bezel for proper mount. I had the same experience in 2006 with my Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and it tooks a hell of a lot of web-research and money to grade it up for use in germany. I was looking for an actual Explorer, and the problem is still the same - thats one of the reasons why i draw back of a Ford Explorer as my next car, too many diufficulties ( fm radio is one of the least )
edit : "whom" , not "whi" ...... bad keyboard, sorry.......
