What is the wire on a 02 Ranger differential for ? Can I do away with it as my truck does not have this wire?

02 Ranger differential has a wire on it what is it for and  can I do away with it
as my  ranger does not have this wire?

If you are talking the front dif. then no. It would be for your 4 wheel drive. There are no wires on the rear.
