Maintenance is key to the life of any vehicle. Properly maintained, both can go for hundreds of thousands of miles. However, there is a difference in build quality and in answer to your question, Honda is leagues above Jeep in terms of reliability. Honda is consistently in the top 3 to 5 for reliability among car manufacturers, while Jeep places consistently towards the bottom. There can be issues with ANY car, but I like to hedge my bets by doing some research and seeing how other buyers have fared with their purchases. If you are strictly wondering about reliability here, the Honda is the way to go. If you like the Jeep though, I say go for it. Life is short and money comes and goes. Enjoy whichever one you decide on.

I don't know enough about the Honda CRV but I sell Jeeps and Jeeps have a great rating - as well as a safety rating. I had a customer's daughter (17) drive her new jeep in the winter on bad roads, she ended up rolling her Cherokee (2014). Rolled it 5 times and she walked away with ONLY bruises from the seatbelt and air bags. Jeeps are totally reliable and have been for YEARS! If I were you, I'd drive each one (with the options you want) and see how you feel in them. Check comfort, blind spots, etc......Don't let someone tell you Jeeps are in the bottom for reliability. I can tell you that even if we get a Jeep Cherokee in that is 15 years old and has 200K miles and rusted, we STILL AWAYS get people that want it!!!!!! Take your time and feel them each out for yourself. Honda's don't hold as much value now a days as they used to. I honestly believe if you take care of it and keep it serviced as needed, then each would be fine. But I still FIRMLY believe in JEEP

The ONLY automaker Jeep finished above in the J.D. Power 2017 vehicle reliability ratings is Fiat. Let that sink in. Honda clocked in at ninth. I didn't say people wouldn't still want Jeeps, as they have a fierce following of people not unlike yourself who are blindly loyal enthusiasts. You may sell Jeeps, but I get to put them back together after someone takes one up a mountain and finds out their idea of "Trail Rated" is a little different than Jeep's. Just saying. People love reality TV as well. Doesn't mean anything if you're judging quality programming. And Hondas ARE worth actually more than they used to be. The MSRP on an Accord is actually higher than on a Camry, despite Camry being the best-selling sedan in America.

The Honda is a far far far far more reliable and better built vehicle than any Jeep product ever has been. I would NOT even consider a Jeep over a Honda.

Thank you everyone. I was considering purchasing a new left over jeep sport in place of my Honda 2014 crv with 70000 miles well kept and very reliable. My payments on the new jeep would be less than my crv at 70000. Thank you everyone for feedback. I was considering price over reliability. Everyone just answered my question for me. Indeed my research shows possible drive shaft loss resulting in no drivability and numerous reported oil seal leaks in drive train in the 2017s. Anymore feedback may be directed to me at Dlovemyharley@aol.com . Your feedback is appreciated..thank you in advance
