I noticed a fuel smell in the cab of my 2000 sonoma 4 cyl seems worse when I am idling. there is no fuel leaking when the motor is off and no running issues. when idling there seems to be fuel dripping off the transmission underneath.

I noticed a fuel smell in the cab of my 2000 sonoma 4 cyl  seems worse when I am idling. there is no fuel leaking when the truck is not running.  idling it is dripping off the transmission bell housing.  I can not see it anywhere on the engine and the truck runs without issue

Sounds like the fuel line in the vicinity of the transmission has a hole or crack in it. Repair it ASAP before your truck goes up in flames.
