Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 GMC Jimmy wont go in reverse. It has transmission fluid in it that I
just put in but it still wont go in reverse. When I was in the store parking lot I
did hear a pop but I have no idea what it is and the check engine light isn't
on. It does have a transfer case with fluid in it I believe because there is no
puddle but I don't know if a bad transfer case would cause no reverse.

If someone can help me that would be great thanks.

A pop is never a good sound when it comes to transmissions, it is usually a sound a breaking band makes and in your case it is most likely the reverse band. However as this is a fully electronic transmission there is a slight chance that a solenoid has been jammed and just needs replaced, your best bet is a good transmission shop that can do stand alone testing, that way they can tell if it is electronic or a hardware problem. Good Luck.
