new ignition switch installed, now engine will not start. rotates with starter, but no ignition
after new switch (electrical), not the tumbler, , the engine will not start.
seems to be with the small timing gear in the ignition switch.
is there a witness or timing location for the plastic gear in the ignition switch?
If your ignition switch is the slider type located at the bottom of the steering column it's out of adjustment. Loosen, but do not remove, the two small bolts securing it to the steering column. Then move the switch to adjust it. If you have the switch that is attached directly to the lock cylinder it most likely is defective. I'd exchange it for another one. HTH. -Jim
