2014 F150, standard OEM AM/FM radio. While listening to the radio there was a loud popping noise and then the sound stopped. It still has power on the radio just no sound.

Additional information. This happens in extreme heat. I have to pull- over and shut off engine. Wait about five minute and turn on engine and the radio then starts working. Oh yea, CD has no sound when this happens.

Sounds like a heat related issue within the radio. The problem is even if you pull out the radio and bring it somewhere to be bench tested, the cost will probably be more than a new radio.
