Is rebuild 2014 fiat500 worth investing in?

Asked by galguru0022 May 20, 2022 at 08:17 AM about the 2014 FIAT 500 Sport

Question type: General

Im looking to buy a fiat500 as it's what i need in terms of size and amenities,
nothing too crazy just something to get me from point a to point b when i
need to drive more than 5 miles (i ride a bike, take a bus) and reliable.
There's an offer for a rebuild title on a 2014 500 at $10k and 20k miles that
I'm close to buying but am having doubts as I'm hearing very mixed feelings
on this vehicle. The car itself just had damage at the front reported due to
driving off the road and hitting a fence, the dealer I went to said the same
thing pretty much. Test drove it, ran fine.
I'm hearing lot of people tell me to walk away from the rebuild and save my
money as it will only give me problems, yet I'm hearing other people tell me
take it for such low mileage as it's difficult to find and I could resell it in the
future no problem if i wanted to.

Figured I'd get some other opinions and see what my options are. I put down
a deposit on it already (which honestly I shouldn't have but, this is my first
time dealing with something like this so I am a bit clueless about this), and
I'm having a hard time with finding a credit union or bank that can loan me
out more than $7k.

Just walk away. These things are money pits even if they haven’t been wrecked.

Most lenders will not lend you money on a vehicle with a rebuilt title, you will have to come up with the cash. While the car might be fine once fixed up, when reselling, due to the rebuilt title, you will get much less. Personally, try and get your deposit back on it and find something else. a Fiat is not a reliable vehicle long term.

Nope, you don't want it! This is a total loss vehicle that someone bought at an insurance auction, put it back together, and now is reselling it to make a profit! Keep shopping!! Hope that helps! Jim
