My transmission won't let me get into 3rd but when I up shift from 2nd to 3rd at 3 1/2 RPMs and not even all the time. I have to shiftmanually using #gears. I know I am pushing it and don'ttrust shops

That sounds like the solenoids are getting sticky, only a tranny shop can tell for sure, but don't wait getting it fixed, it could cost you a complete tranny if not repaired soon. Look around, check tranny shops in your area see if they have good reviews, you want a shop that works on trannies not just an R&R place. HTH
