Asked by Aug 14, 2014 at 12:31 PM about the 2014 Honda Accord Sport

Question type: Car Customization

Sloppily applied to inside wheel well body paint that looks like it was applied for sound proofing. Also has cut out rubber padding under the spare tire; the cut out is not symmetrical,,,see photo.

The cars today aren't make it look nice, just functional since that is hidden under a body panel. I think you are fine. If you have a concern, talk to your dealer and if something isn't right your warranty will cover it.

I hear you, but is it for soundproofing? If so, what is it called? What about the gray rubber cutout?

I'm pretty sure the yellow is a seam sealer, (think of automtotive caulk). The gray is for sound deadening. Most cars I've owned, this is just slapped in patches and random, not the whole panel. Nothing abnormal at all.
