2002 ford mustang new battery a month ago now completely dead with now prior signs of drain.

Might be a shorted cell, have the battery tested. If the battery checks out, you have short to ground or a parasitic draw.

Thank you for your response and will check on your suggestions in the morning. Husband would like to know if there is a test he could do to see if it's the alternator is bad?
