I was driving and my truck was on cruise control, when it started revving up in rpms as if was in neutral. A check engine light came on and it just seemed like the transmission wouldn't go into gear.

I was able to make it home. When i woke up this morning, I started my truck and was unable to get the truck to move forward in Drive or move backwards in Reverse..

Check the fluid level and then do as above.

Since you did have a check engine light you should also be able to get an error code off of the OBDII port with an OBDII port scanner. When you have read the code(s) share them with this forum for further follow-up information.

Ok guys.. Do i got 3 codes. P06DD (Engine oil pressure control circuit) P0700 (Transmission control malfunction) P0796 (Pressure control solenoid)

1st I would check all oil cleanliness (no metal shavings or extreme dirtiness) and oil levels in the engine and transmission. If ok, then I would actually check the pressures, i.e., engine oil (no knocking? or strange engine noises...usually fine) and then transmission fluid circulation / pressure by temporarily disconnecting transmission line to radiator trans oil cooler. If both show good pressure and your gauges in the dash (oil pressure gauge) show good pressure. I would then move onto the electrical wiring harnesses to the PCM and TCM ....the main harness. I would firmly, not drastically first "jossle" it, i.e, move it some and then see if improvement is attained. If not then I would check all fuses and all wiring to the fuse box in the engine compartment and the wiring back to the cab. After all these checks I would then take it to the shop as it is possible that it could also be faulty control modules (PCM and TCM), although it is strange that two compute/control systems would go defective at the same time. Hope this is helpful.
