Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 f150 / 5.0 . 70,000 miles .
and when i take off from a dead stop , if i
floor it to get out in traffic  it takes off fine
then shifts in to 2nd gear and  it falls on its
face like i took my foot off of the gas peddle
. then it slowly starts to accelerate again .
driving down the road it does fine when i
floor it to use passing gear to pass another
vehicle . im gonna get rearended with

Does it fall on it's face because it stays in 2nd gear, or do rpm's drop.

It takes off great in 1st , but when it shifts in to 2nd it looses all power and barely goes . and then slowly it picks back up . it takes about 50 ft or so to get back going again . No its not staying in 2nd when i stop . it shifts up and down just fine .

Sounds like the trans may be going into limp mode, meaning a electronic fault was registered at some point. If you can reliably repeat the condition, bring it to a mechanic with a live data recorder. They will be able to see exactly what is happening at the shift point. Your transmission shifts electronically.

It sounds like it could be that . I'll take it some where and have it checked out . I'll reply back and let you know what i find out . thank you
