Nissan CVT issues
Who else is having/has had issues with Nissan CVT
transmissions? 2 months off fhe lot my 2014 used
Altima's transmission no longer goes into gear.
Dealer says not their problem. Even Nissan won't
cover it because wrong fluid installed (not by me),
causing it to fail. Notoriously bad transmission?
New one through dealer $4500. Used one $6-800,
thinking of having it installed by local guys. Advice?
whole deal sounds fishy. Who verified that the wrong fluid was used? only 2 months you owned it? Did you get a warranty on it when you bought it? like a 3 month 3000 mile drivetrain?
Nissan Dealer, $4500 really just telling you to GO AWAY! contact the Sectary of State in your state this is who regulates and controls Automobile Dealer licensing..YES, there scared of the State, next try Nissan directly lets them know about your Dealer EXPERIENCE! Regards..... WHO did the wrong transmission oil?
Nissan CVT have lots of issues. Possibly they are determining wrong fluid due to the color of your fluid or it could be just BS.
Tom, Had reputable local Nissan dealer inspect. No extra waranty. Just 60K powertrain, which Nissan won't honor due to wrong fluid. BBB, IL AG, arbitration assoc contacted. Aamco was wishy- washy and tried to rip me off on price of tranny, so looking to local private business guy to install for $500. Advisable or no? Does a new tranny always have to be reprogrammed for $150, no matter what? Suggestions on NS-3 fluid, other than dealer's $20/qt (8 qts needed)? No other parts stores carry it that I called.
Rainman9....Use the manufacturer suggested fluid even if it is $20.00 a quart. It is likely that the wrong fluid ruined the other transmission. I am stunned you even asked about it.
