How often should I change my oil if I'm using synthetic?

Generally, follow the guideline in the Nissan Owner's Manual for your car. It also depends on your driving style and where you live, which is also mentioned in the manual. It appears that Nissan is suggesting 5k miles on its oil changes for newer models. For the first oil change, use 5k as recommended then you can adjust it as you drive. If you push the car more aggressively or live in harsher environments (SW with high hot heat or N like NE with harsh winters), then you may wish to consider oil changes sooner than later. I've used Full synthetic and it has lasted longer and better >5k upon changes. But since I lived in a hot region and now live in a cold weather in NE, with moderate commuting, I have oil changes every ~5k, but don't worry that much if I push it ~<7500.

Mobil 1 2014 altima Nissan says 10k if you are strictly synthetic Mobile says 15k As a former engineer I can tell you that you can look at your oils condition right on the dipstick.Synthetic oils dont breakdown, conventional so you are really looking for dirt( air intake etc). Since my 2013 has 108k I have changed oil every 15k for the first 100k now will change it every 10k .Nissan designed the 2,5 ltr spec for a synthetic oil, yet Nissan dealers and many owners use reg oil ( 7K is fine with today's metallurgy )

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima SR with only 8,000 miles on it and live in New Mexico. Because It is just a lease and I will only have it for another year and a half, I am having such a hard time finding which oil to use. Do any of you have any suggestions?

OOPS... I forgot to say that I am trying to go the cheapest way possible since money is tight. What would happen if I just went with conventional oil?

I literally only paid about 15$ more than usual for my oil change than i used to and its full synthetic and was done at the dealership which itself is usually a lot more. I have a 2015 nissan altima and I'm in. Colorado which is hot as hell at summer and freezing cold in winter. I am gonna be using the 5k rule as suggested by the dealership but like someone here said I'm not going to panic if i extend that to close to 7.5k. My opinion is that it's well worth the price increase when ur having to do it so seldom. But that's just me.... Oh and i drive her like i stole her too. Lol

Clean oil extends the life of your engine and it is cheap compared to a new engine. Use a top quality filter with synthetic filter media (nothing to do with synthetic oil) and change the oil frequently. Your engine will reward you will a long life.

I have a 2018 nissan altima sv did a oil change about 2 months ago my light came out to let me know I need a oil change but I did a rotella synthetic oil 0w20 at jiffy lube but it tell me that I need to change my oil every 7500 miles but my car is already asking for a oil change it says it's been 3000 miles already do I have to do a oil change now or wait until it says u need to change the oil on the paper thank you if u have a answer for me i really appreciated
