Stereo Problems

Asked by Jan 03, 2014 at 12:26 AM about the 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Ford Expedition-Eddie Bauer.  The previous owner installed a DVD player under the front passenger seat.  One day, I reached back to turn on the DVD player for my son, and the radio went out.  No stereo, no clock, no CD changer...NOTHING!  I have checked the fuse panel in the passenger compartment, as well as under the hood.  I am FAR from knowledgeable in this sort of thing, but getting really tired of listening to my sons movies every time we go somewhere.  Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, Andrew

Sounds like maybe a fuse inline on the power wire for the stereo blew. Probably a loose connection tripped it or maybe the head unit just failed. Have someone who works on car stereos diagnose it for you. Also check the wiring of the ground connections for both units.
