When driving with AC, truck loses a bit of power, but when AC is off it runs fine?

Totally normal, any car loses power with a/c on also this should lower your gas mileage. The reason being is when you turn on your a/c the compressor is turned on, this compressor is connected to the engine via magnetic clutch which puts an extra load on your engine. Don't worry about it.
