Question type: Car Customization

The 77 d150 is perfect in all ways other than it's 2wd. It's got the slant 6
engine and a 4 speed tranny that's not original. I could buy a rolling w200 that
has everything except the engine but I'd like to keep the manual tranny from
the d150. How would you go about this?

This should be possible but I think you will need the transfer case and transmission from the 4x4 as well as the front axle. You probably could use the 4 speed if you set it up with a divorced transfer case. For this I would consult a good off road shop.

If you use the front axle from the donor truck you should probably also use the rear axle so you have the same gearing front and back.
