Thinking of making an offer on a new 14 Boxster. The car has been on the lot for over a year, should I request the oil be chg'd and a new battery? Thanks
If the vehicle has over 1,000 miles on it the warranty has already started running. I'd ask for the oil change and the battery fully charged then load tested. If the vehicle has less than 1,000 miles on it the warranty begins when you take delivery of it. I'd still ask for the oil change but if the battery dies it'll be on them. HTH. -Jim
This is a very expensive car, see this link, 2014 lowest price model starts at $51,000http://www.kbb.com/porsche/boxster/2014-porsche- boxster/base-style/?vehicleid=385344- so, everything is negotiable, when you are paying this much, you're entitled to make requests. If they're not going to accommodate you, find another seller.
Thanks guys. I also called a import car mechanic as well and he also thought these were reasonable requests. I'll keep you posted if I pull the trigger.
