2014 ford focus se winshield wipers don't work

Asked by Joseph Jul 30, 2022 at 10:20 AM about the 2014 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my 2014 focus is having issues again.
This time the windshield wipers won't turn
on. I have replaced the 20 amp fuse which
is for the wiper motors and I've replaced the
stick inside the vechile . I have tried new
motors still nothing someone said it could
be a body control module or relay but we
looked at the relays there are none for the
wipers and there is power going to the left
side at 15.7 volts the passenger side isn't
showing any volts so somewhere there is
power lose on one side. I've been told these
cars have a wiper control module but I can't
find it or any of the components. I've looked
online to find things and there's no videos
about this issue anywhere no videos on
where the BCM is or any of the boards I
need to work on I call ford and there about
as helpful as watching paint dry.any help
would be appreciated . Thank you.

I checked Rockauto.com and I don't see a BCM, wiper control module, or wiper relay listed for your vehicle. If you replaced the battery and this happened immediately afterwards I'd suspect you need to have the PCM flashed (programmed). On many newer vehicles the computers must be powered up at all times, no exceptions, or they lose some of their memory. Even replacing parts, like the wiper motors can cause a flash to be needed. But I suspect either the wiper switch is bad or you need to start tracing wires. Hope that helps! Jim
