I have a 2007 crown vic, i press the gas and it wont accelerate after i turn the car off i hear a ticking in the throttle body and it wont start unless i disconect the throttle body

sounds like the iac valve is acting up which is the idle air control or your throttle position sensor have you checked codes?


The '07 does not have an IAC - it's Fly By Wire. It's likely that you have a concern with either the Accelerator pedal sensor or the Throttle Body actuator. The flapping of the Throttle plates is the result of the computer trying to "see" the position of the butterflies. Are their codes? That's where I'd start.
