I have a 06 ford crown vic with police interceptor. I need a transmission. What years would work? I was told only 06 would work.

Police interceptors are a special transmission, and from what I can gather an 06 needs an 06 tranny, I would suggest checking out B&M transmissions for a replacement, they modify the units and fix the weak spots, and when they are done the tranny is really solid. Just my 2 cents worth.

I had the codes ran on it. Seems like mainly first gear. But it will only go in reverse. Put a new speed output sensor (that code came also) but no change. Debating rebuild it. Or used ..

On a police car package don't go used. It'll be beat up possibly worse than the one you already have. If the car is in otherwise good condition I'd go with a rebuilt one. But be sure it's the special one for the police package. They are different! HTH. -Jim
