This is itching my brain... unplugged wire behind cyl 4.

Asked by Feb 19, 2017 at 04:35 PM about the 2002 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While working on my 4.6L Crown Vic, i stumbled
upon a unplugged wire routing from the engine
wire harness. Right behind cyl 4.  Been trying to
find where it plugs into for weeks. Anyone willing
to share any knowledge, Would be a great service.

That's actually a vacuum hose, not an electrical plug. Possibly for the heat/air conditioning system. Check the vacuum hose routing diagram under the hood. It's part of the emissions decal. HTH. -Jim

I wonder if it goes to the EGR valve?

I have a similar engine and the EGR valve is near that vacuum connection.
