I have a 2001 crown vic interceptor. Keep getting misfires on #4 and #7 plugs even after changing the boots, coils and plugs. Then wiggled the #4 & #7 and it ran like a new car for bout 6 miles.
You, sir have just discovered a wiggle test, sir
Yeah does it mean theres a short somewhere?
It's like you make and break connection, that means the wires, connectors, or the component or sometimes its mounting are loose or loose fitting. that's an intermittant open rather than a short. When you get those components into certain light ? sometimes the part can be cracked or damaged. especially from previous overheat. I had one a while back where that caused intermittant misfire.
Thx danny, i will check and replace those two pigtails if necessary and see what happens.
