Sounds like a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve and/or dirty throttle plates. Use a spray can of carburetor cleaner to clean them. Use a new gasket when re-installing the IAC. HTH. -Jim

In it should start up right away? N why is the gas gauge meter on F after i replace the fuel pump n the check fuel light is on?

Check the wiring and the plug at the fuel pump. A gas gauge that always reads full (F) has a bad power (+) connection. That's an important clue. The gas gauge sending unit is part of the fuel pump assembly. HTH. -Jim
