Wrx accessport

Asked by Stephen Jun 03, 2017 at 02:22 PM about the 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I purchased a v3 accessport for my 2006 wrx. It
had a protune which made the car run great. But for
some reason I had to screw around with other tunes
and now it's not running good, I was hoping
someone knew if how I could get my old tune
back? Please help asap

You need to re-trace the steps you took. Figure out what tune you programmed in at the beginning. If you screwed up something on the engine that will need to be fixed. Is the CEL on?

Protunes are always better for the car in so many ways. It is possible you may have loaded a map onto the ECU that the car may not have supporting mods for. All in all, protunes will always make the car run better than OTS maps from the AP. For example, I am about to install a downpipe to allow me to go stage 2+ from the accessport. This will improve my performance but once I get a protune, the car will be significantly better all around. Either find a tuner and get a protune again or use a map on the AP that only supports mods you may have installed on the car.
