Ford Escape - 2014 Cargo Light

Asked by Jul 25, 2017 at 10:05 AM about the 2014 Ford Escape Titanium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The light in the back of my 2014 Ford Escape will not go off. I noticed it yesterday when driving early in the morning. It stays on while I drive although my car does not show the rear hatch is ajar. Even when I turn off and lock the car the light stays on for a while. It eventually does turn off when the car is off and left untouched but I would rather not leave my car parked somewhere with a light on in the back showing everyone what might be stored back there.

I can not figure out where to switch off the light or why it is not turning off when the hatch is closed.

Owners manual on page 76. Bottom Right of page, Rear Interior lamp. Shows you what control to turn it off and on.

Negative - Page 76 discusses ambient lighting. Page 75 discusses rear interior lamps but they are talking about the lights above the back seat doors.

Did you ever figure this out? Just got an Escape and having the same problem
