2000 dodge dakota quad cab battery died I
replaced it it now it won't pass smog. No check
engine light no fix codes when put on computer. I
don't know what needs to be fixed
Did they give you a report on where it failed? They should have let you know so you could get it fixed. They came up with something...
That's the million dollar question there is no code , the battery disconnected and reconnect no check engine light no fail code only obd due to battery disconnect
Check all fuses, if your saying what I think, there is no power to the ALDL test port.
Disconnecting the battery may have cleared the readiness monitors. If that's the case you need to drive normally for a few days with the gas tank between 3/4 and 1/4 full. No more and no less. Your 2000 model will pass with 1, but only 1, of the readiness monitors not set. The EVAP readiness monitor is the hardest one to set. Especially in the cold weather. So if you have all the other readiness monitors set, no check engine light on while driving, and no trouble codes in the computer, you'll pass. HTH. -Jim
