2000 dodge dakota..put new starter in.started right up used all day the went to start it and only clicking noise..tested battery its good but maybe not good enough, anything else you can suggest,

Try jumping it?And if it worked before,recheck all connection,s to battery and stater,lot,s of time,s bad battery,s will do this.

husband checked and cleaned connections. we jump started it with by pushing in reverse..he says battery is good but I say maybe not good enuf,,only clicking..starter tested fine its brand new...

And this happened all of a sudden so he replaced starter..it started right up..and started again hours later then the next time at dinner time..only clicking

Bad Battery.

Battery has bad cell in it,it will lose power over time.

Also make sure your cable connections are shiney clean, none of that black corrosion, you might want to do a voltage drop test on the cables, it is not uncommon that corrosion can get inside the cables and reek havock with the voltage.
