Put a new fuel pump on a 1987 dosge truck. Will run for a few minutes then quits. What is wrong

Have you taken a look at the float on the carb to see it its feeding enough fuel to the intake manifold?

thats true..also im sure you put a new fuel filter on it...also pickup in tank..are you sure its a fuel problem???
