Why does my 2003 ford taurus water resiviour boil
You car is over heating. Why I am not sure. Could be a blown head gasket. Napa sales a block tester that you can do on the antifreeze. I would have the system pressure tested and see what you can find that way
Try changing the radiator cap first.
It is not over heating thats the thing.. we changed the thermostat.. resiviour still over spills through the top
Change the radiator cap. Get a good brand name one and not a cheap POS replacement be sure it's the correct one. I'll bet that's the problem. Been there done that.
Radiator cap was changed as well.. no water in the oil so I don't kno if it is. Broken HG
By chance do you have the 3.8 V6 engine? I don't remember if it was still available in 2003
No I have a 3.0 v6 engine
The 3.0 V 6 is bullet proof. So I doubt it's a head gasket. Let me think about this.
Try this. To test if the head gasket is bad. When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Look down the radiator and see if there's "BUBBLING" If there is that's a sign that the head gasket is blown. If not, then I just can't help but think its the radiator cap.
Tried that no bubbling.. but still overflowing.
Could it be the thermostat sensor
try burping it might have air in it
My Taurus is doing the same thing????
