Fuel Filter

Asked by Aug 17, 2016 at 05:43 AM about the 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I cannot find the fuel filter location on my 1985 Pontiac Trans Am? The car has a miss in it so I changed the Plugs, wires cap rotor coil, and it still misses so I want to change the fuel filter but I cannot find it.

Thanks
Bob

Since it's a Trans Am I'm assuming that you have the carbureted 5.0L V8. It's in the carburetor where the fuel line screws onto the carburetor. You'll have to remove the fuel line at the carburetor then remove the large nut that the fuel line screws into. The fuel filter will then pop right out. HTH. -Jim

No it's not carbureted it's fuel injected, and I did find the filter it's on the left side in front of the rear wheel, I changed it but it still misses. Bob
