Car keeps dieing at Stop sign

Car goes dead when I stop sign

Automatic transmission? Can you get it into park or neutral and it's idles fine? If so, your transmission torque convertor is locking up on you at idle, putting drag on the engine. Might need to replace the lockup solenoid.
