1987 chevy S10 TBI stalls out when I turn it on
My 1987 chevy s10 turns on for about 15 to 20
seconds but then dies out.. turns right back on but
it does the same thing ever time...I have changed
the fuel filter, M.A.P sensor, spark plugs, plug wires,
coil, air idle control valve, battery is new what can
be causing this to happen I here the fuel pump
running and I see fuel coming from the TBI please
So what does the fuel spray from the injectors look like? The 2 injectors should spray a nice cone shape mist, no dripping at all. Possible fuel regulator may need to be rebuilt in the TBI.
Thank you I completely forgot about the regulator I'll replace it and repost if it make a difference or not
I replaced the regulator but unfortunately it still shuts off any other suggestions anything will help thanx
Well you could have the ignition control module tested, and check the two wires in the distributor from the pick up coil going to that center piece. Gently pull on them, they will brake right there.
Thanx rowefast it was the Ingnition control module
Glad you found the problem.
Julio did yours bogg out when you would drive it? I think I maybe have the same issue
Yes it did but for me it ended up being my egr valve I didn't install it right and one of my vacuum lines was melted and no air could go through
