Hubs don't seem to lock

Asked by Oct 25, 2010 at 02:45 PM about the 1996 Geo Tracker 2 Dr STD 4WD Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All of a sudden in the late winter this year my 4WD seemed to stop working,  I think it's because the hubs don't lock.  Had brakes replaced around the same time, wondering if something happened then.  Anyone ever had a problem like this?

if the repair shop just replaced the pads no. if that had two turn the roters and pulled them off yes thay may have goten them back togeter wrong. you should be able to have someone with a little mechanical knolage look at them and he should be able to tell.you should get a manual on your modle thay are changing things so much it's hard for someone working on a modle he hasen't worked on before to get every thing right. you can take your manual along every time you have work done and it should be done right.
