will most parts change between 1981 ford f100 and 1998 f150 xl such as steering colum and rear glass

I have a 1981 ford ranger f100 with a 300 six that I am trying to fix up .I have a wrecked 1998 ford f150 xl and I want some parts off of it but I would like to know if they will fit before I start .So I can avoid a lot of work for nothing and by the way I do that on a regular basis . Can anyone help me !PLEASE!!!

none of the parts will fit. all fasteners on the 98 are metric, and nothing crosses over.
